Great character. I was not at all a fan of the Tim Burton cartoonish ones. Bale was great as Batman I agree. I am in the Minority perhaps but Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne may even top that. His angry Bruce Wayne in the trailers for the new film capture that characters personality and emotion really well from what I am seeing. A very dark and brooding Batman coming to terms with the fact he is facing a potentially invincible opponent and his age.
One great scene in the series was in the Dark Knight Rises where he reappears as Batman from the shadows under the icy bridge after escaping the pit. And then the reveal to the commissioner before flying the bomb away from Gotham.
I have always liked both Batman & Green Arrow; both are just men; with no special powers and really cool & expensive toys. Unlike most of the other supper heroes, they were just men. I would have to say though Superman has always been my favorite.
