Any fans?

I was discussing the strategy with a friend, and it got me thinking.

Are you foolish to do anything other than continually buy men and defend every turn with USSR?

Are you talking about the PC or board game? For the PC game you may want to post in the video game forum.

I've played both.

The PC game is great because you don't have to spend so much time setting everything up, but I am not a fan of not being able to roll my own dice...

Had the boardgame a long time ago. I never played the PC game but I am a huge wargamer. It sounds like you are in a rut where the only strategy in A&A is attrition (i.e. building more troops and just overwhelm the other side). If you like WW2 strategic/operational level PC games I would recommend Battlefront's Strategic Command 2 - relatively easy to learn but with excellent AI where such factors as diplomacy, technology, and supply factor in.
There are tons of different WW2 strategy games out there however.

I have the board game and only played it once. It is really fun.

Just hard to get anybody to play with.

That is typically what happens in my experience.

Now I can play online with other nerds like me.
