Are you saying in 2017 Netflix couldn't make it possible for individuals to personalize their library/profile?
If you hover your mouse over a movie, you'll see a thumbs up or thumbs down icon to the right side of the movie. Give a thumbs down to the movies you don't want to see, and you'll soon start seeing a difference in what selection of movies the log-in screen will display to you.
No, it doesn't need to be an option. Most people figure out pretty quickly how to search for movies/TV shows they might like and save them to their queue. And by rating the stuff they watch, they make the Netflix display smarter over time, so the selection of titles they see when they first log into the site becomes less random.
When you visit Redbox, do you expect it to show you only DVDs you like?
