for me, it was finding out that Laurence Welk's favorite song before he died was "Funky Town" by Lipps, Inc.


(although if you listen carefully to the "deetdeetdeetdoodeetdeetdeetdeetdeet" refrain in the music, it
wouldn't be out of place in a song using that keyboard sound).

HAHA my grandmother was a big fan of LW; she never missed that show. She loved that rendition and asked if it were a gospel song that she had never heard.

I was mildly surprised by Ellen DeGeneres' and Portia De Rossi's keen interest in fine art and architecture.

Apparently this passion for rehabbing vintage houses extends to other celebrities, ie:
