So the other evening I had the TV on and the show Walker Texas Ranger was being broadcast. Chuck Norris had a two day stubble and was staring down a bad guy from about 20 yards. Bad guy raises a pistol, takes aim and gets ready to fire. At the same time, Chuck held his hand out in front of him towards the bad guy and screwed his face into a zenlike trance of focus. Bad guy fires. Chuck deflects the bullet into the sky then proceeds to beat the tar out of bad guy.
Anyway, the next morning when I got up and poured a cup of coffee, I turned the TV on and there was Chuck Norris demonstrating some exercise equipment with Christie Brinkley! They were near the beach and I could see the ocean in the background. He was clean shaven and looked refreshed. This got me thinking and lead me to several questions:
1. Have any of you ever had to be somewhere else real soon after an important event, like Chuck did? How did Chuck get to the ocean so quickly, I mean it was less than 12 hours after his dealing with bad guy! Do any of you have busy schedules like that?
2. Why can't we get our local Police to learn the same technique Chuck used for dealing with gunshots? If so, they wouldn't have to spend money on bullet proof vests. If every local law enforcement agency could get that training it would save some serious money from municipal budgets. In fact, tomorrow my city has a meeting of the PFC (Police Fire Commission) I am going to go down there and ask to speak before them and to the mayor about obtaining such training. Maybe they could get Chuck in personally. The way he travels that should not take too long.
