Young people have been glorifying celebrities forever. This is nothing new. The only difference is that now celebrities are more accessible because of the internet and social media. That's not going away. So you'd better get used to it.

I remember people talking about the death of celebrity culture and how young people are too cool for that stuff with the internet.
I thought the internet would make celebrities less powerful as individuals made their own content, but the exact opposite is happening.
LOL, I said I thought the internet would make this problem better because people aren't relying on Hollywood/Big recording companies to produce celebrity icons.
I was amazed that internet celebrities have just replaced Hollywood celebrities.
Why does ANYONE glorify celebrities? Why would anyone listen to them? They live in a fantasy world and more often than not believe their own hype. Lol
Weren't you ever young? It's normal. In 1972 or so, I wrote Donny Osmond a love letter. My room was decorated with pictures of David Cassidy as a kid, and then as a teen I had a 5 foot poster of Peter Frampton over my bed. My mom swooned over Frank Sinatra. My brother idolized sports heroes. It doesn't mean anything.

Elvis was not produced. Elvis was one of the most important players in the birth of rock and roll. He became a star because if his talent in songwriting, singing, his unique style in combining R&B with rock. Why do you need to take away from what he contributed to music by implying he was just a face that fit what producers wanted?
