Why do some video store workers act funny if you buy something from a video store other than a movie? Like they expect every purchase to be a movie.

I work across the street from a Block Busters and sometimes when it's late and the nearest grocery store is closed I'll hop across the street sometimes to the Block Busters to buy some of their snack items or a magazine or whatever. I've noticed that some of them think it's kinda funny that you'll buy something in there other than renting a movie. The only reason I buy what I buy is because like I said the nearest grocery store is usually closed by 10pm and there is a gas station down the street but I don't feel like driving down there when the Block Busters is just across the street. Of course I really don't feel like explaining all of that to the cashier. LOL

Anyway has anyone ever bought something from a video store other than a movie and if so did the cashier give you a funny attitude? I mean they do sell other stuff besides movies. I wonder if some of the cashiers are thinking that I drove my car all the way to Block Busters just to buy some snack items?

Well first of all, in my experience, movie store workers are generally teenagers or people in their very early 20s, and they think everything is weird. (That age group frightens me a little).

Second of all, the candy in the movie store (again, just in my experience), tends to be really overpriced, so maybe they think you are being extravagent.

Who knows what they are thinking ...

Maybe they think you want to rent porn and then chicken out at the last minute and pick up snacks instead.

;P

I can't remember the last time I even went into a video store, but I still think I know sort of what your talking about. Next time that happens you should tell them I would have rented a movie to but you guys don't carry Beta, see how they look then.

My wife and I rent alot of movies and have a weird relationship with one of the video store guys. He knows what we like to watch and we always have a discussion about the movie.

Anyway, one day we were behind a guy who rented a porn and to say it was awkward for everyone would be an understatement.
