He was the funniest of the WB characters, much funnier than Bugs Bunny. A big, blustery, loud-mouthed, arrogant Southern rooster, lol.... He was hilarious. My favorite!
They haven't made really good cartoons like that or Popeye ever since those. Felix the Cat was good, and Tom 'n' Jerry.
I think every age group is biased towards thinking their era of cartoons (and everything else for that matter) was the best. I grew up in the 80's and think that was the best decade ever to be a kid - technology really starting to be a significant part of everyday American life yet not enough to dominate it. My school days consisted of coming home to watch afternoon cartoons then go outside and play with the neighbors' kids yet still managed somehow enough time everyday to pay attention to my schoolwork and be at the top of the class.
Those of you who mentioned 80s cartoons forgot about such classics as the Smurfs, jetsons, voltron, speed racer, gummi bears, muppet babies, etc. - back in the day when cartoons wre made for kids. I think Beavis and Butthead was the first cartoon for adults that I personally ever heard about and thought it was weird. There's also a noncartoon children's program that no one else seems to remember; it was called the great space coaster.
Yeah Speed Racer was most definately a 70's cartoon, not 80's!
Yea, I forgot to specify that. It was still played a lot during the early part of the 80s, which is why I can remember it. I remember the theme song more than the actual cartoon though.
