Ever go to a comedy show which features 2-4 warm-up acts, followed by the "headliner," only it turns out the headliner isn't very good at all? Maybe it's just me, but this seems to happen at 90% of the comedy shows I end up seeing.
Now I know humor is a relative concept, but I can say for certain that I was far from the only person at this most recent show who was not enjoying it. The "headliner" was on stage way too long, and not only was his material not funny, but some of it made no sense at all. You could hear all kinds of side conversations throughout the room from people who'd lost interest.
So I wonder, how do performers who aren't very good end up headlining these shows?
Dane cook (when he was at the height of popularity) . Some of his headliners were way funnier and he ended up doing all his jokes we already heard on Comedy Central. Kevin Hart though was hilarious. We couldn't catch our breath the entire time cause it was that good.

Impossible! Dane Cook has stolen his material from some of the greatest stand ups in the biz. He must have been a little bit funny even if he's annoying and has a bad delivery
Dane Cook was very funny when he first appeared as a comedian. You can see it on YOu Tube. He makes a joke about getting stuck in the Burger King job. Other jokes, he is really funny, and cute. then now he got all scruffy and crude and not funny. Except in Employee of the Month where he was funny.
