Hi:

Can anyone recommend a great, safe neighborhood for a young family. Looking for things to do for children, safety, family oriented community, parks, etc..

Thanks,
Shayami

Default eugene for families

Eugene has great parks, many opportunities for youth (gymnastics, music lessons, sports, dance etc). I would recommend researching the schools first and then select neighborhoods.

I suggest moving to Springfield (1-10 minute drive to Eugene), Eugene actually used to be a big chunk of Springfield, in case you didn't know. Springfield isn't quite as crowded, and there are some good schools. I went to Centennial Elementary, and a bit of Hamlin Middle school before I moved when I was a kid. Things change of course. I concur with wohelo, I would look for good schools first. There tend to be good neighborhoods around the good schools in that area. Also, it depends on what you consider a good school. I remember the Springfield High School had an extremely good band program and basketball team when I was there.
