Pros:
Very pretty (green, hilly, lush, 2 beautiful rivers)

Proximity- about an hour to the beach/mountains, 1.5 hours to Portland

Active community- a lot of good cycling, mountain biking, running, kayaking, fishing, etc.

Cultural outlets- Hult Center (plays, musicals), Lord Leebrick Theater, McDonald Theater, decent live music scene, Eugene Celebration + more

Liberal- positive in my opinion. However, Eugene does have more conservatives than many admit.

Schools- most are pretty solid. Funding in Oregon is not great though.

Weather- nice in the summer

Traffic- no problem usually

University of Oregon- Let's go Ducks!

Cons:
Becoming more expensive. I am a school teacher and looking to buy my first house and I decided to move to Austin, TX because the homes I could afford in Eugene were garbage in my opinion.

Allergies- grass, tree, and mold pollen can wreak havoc with some people.

Weather- as with all of Western Oregon, it drizzles most of the year (but it keeps it green).

I can't think about anything else I don't like about it.

(Funny, we looked in Austin, too! LOVED the houses we saw, but the weather scared us.)
Mold Pollen? What exactly is that from?
