I plan on staying in the Eugene area for 4 - 6 months. Does anyone have any apartment recommendations?

- This is temporary, one person, no pets, one bedroom or studio apartment is fine.

- Further out is better, but need cable internet access since will be working from the apartment.

- Prefer something on the southern side, will be spending time exploring the Roseburg and surrounding areas.

- Quiet as possible.

- For TV reception, I only care about receiving the PBS channel. Do you know if this can be received over-the-air (an antenna, not cable)? If cable is required, do you know if the PBS channel is provided with clear-QAM?

Thanks for any information.

OPB is our PBS station and it's wonderful, you'll love it. We just have basic cable through Comcast. It's channel 10 for us. It's also in HD.

Television · Oregon Public Broadcasting

(True story: We only wanted internet... but when I called Comcast to hook us up the guy suggested we do this package deal... I said I didn't want a package, I only wanted internet... but he said if I did the basic cable plus internet package I would save money... so somehow it works out that I pay LESS for having both basic cable plus internet service than it would cost to have just internet service. I don't understand how this works exactly but I'm not complaining! lol I think it must be that they want people to get a taste of cable and then hopefully they'll want to add more later on... I dunno...)

I don't know what clear-QAM is sorry.

As for apartments... there are probably more small condo's than there are apartments in the South Eugene area, but I'm sure you'll find a nice spot. South Eugene is quieter than the north or central Eugene areas where most of the apartment communities are. You might want to call some property management companies and talk to them to see if they can help. Craigslist is a good place to look, too.

There are plenty more... just google "eugene property management" or "Eugene rentals"

What price range are you looking at? I know of some nice apartments - not in the south eugene area but in a nice area with bike paths and walking trails along the river. A studio rents for around $400.

Comcast charges an extra $10/month for basic cable on top of the Internet. But if you get them bundled together, it's $10 less then just Internet.

I got the same deal when I called up, but they still charge $5/month modem rental which sucks because they don't give you new upgrades and companies like Verizon will stop charging you the modem rental after two or three years.
