Hi my name is Rob. I am a single father of five. We will be moving soon from ca. We are being evicted and our world has been turned upside down this last year. Through it all I praise God for his strength and guidance. I am looking for a new Cristian family to join. Thank you in advance and God bless.

Start here: Eugene churches - Find a church in Eugene Oregon, 28 Christian denominations, 150 churches.

Probably all of them welcome new members.

Gosh! I wish you the best of luck chef73. Surely your contacts through your church could possibly help you connect with someone.

What brings you to Eugene? I've been reading about quite a few families who are leaving California and coming to Eugene thinking that they will have an easier time here. I'm not sure I understand why. There are more affordable states to choose where the job prospects are significantly better.

Well a driving factor was my Dad lives here. Lower cost of living and no state tax. I love the mountains and all you can do in them. I believe God will provide the job I need. So far I am confident it is the right choice. Very nice people here. I'm in Springfield. Thanks for your responses. Rob

We really like parts of Springfield. There are parts of Eugene we would not live in. Springfield has such a bad rep but honestly, there are times when the City of Springfield seems to have its head on straighter than Eugene's.

Both are great little towns with their own different personalities. Truly like two cute & quirky little sister cities.

OP- I wish you the best of luck finding a job. The 4J schools are hiring bus drivers... it might be something until you find something better. I also heard Jerry's and Home Depot are hiring for their spring and summer busy season.

Default Hi Single Father Chef 73 - re Eugene Mission

Hi Chef73 - I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I have been through that mill myself. I too am moving very soon from California to Eugene. Have you heard of a place called the Eugene Mission up there? I think their accomodation is for single moms, single women, and mostly single men, but they would almost certainly be able to help you with at least advice.

Recently, I connected via the web with a Christian woman who has been in Eugene for a year. She says she loves it & it is beautiful. She says the three following churches are genuinely Bible-based:Willamette Christian Center: 2500 West 18th Avenue Eugene OR 97402, also good are First Baptist Church: 3550 Fox Meadow Road Eugene, OR 97408 and Eugene Evangelical Church:834 Monroe St. Eugene, OR 97402. She says the Eugene Evangelical Church has a tiny congregation and is mainly older people, whereas the other are more of a mix.

Consider Cascade Presbyterian Church, 3350 Willamette St. in Eugene. The church is Bible-based, small enough to get to know people, has members of all ages, and ministers who have experience providing spiritual help to single parents and their children. I would recommend this church over a mega-church where you and your kids could get lost in the crowd.

I don't see why you thank a supposed god for any of your circumstances, but good luck to you.
