Everything I have heard is a mixed bag. What are the schools like? What is the community like? What is there? We have young children and are looking for a strong community and good schools.

Thanks!

Eugene is a very nice city and has great schools. Do not worry I have kids in school here and they are doing wonderful. Veneta is a small country like town that also has great resources. I will believe when you move here you and your children will enjoy it.

Veneta = Rednecks in big ol' pickup trucks. If that's your sort of thing, then you'll love it.

A bigger issue is the sewer system and septic tanks.

But ....
I like Veneta. It is a little more conservitive then Eugene, but borders some of the most liberal hippiefied properties in Lane County.

We like the country and we have a big ol' pickup. I just wonder about the community and schools. I want a strong, friendly community for our family and good schools. I heard somewhere that the schools in Veneta scared some people away. I am Teacher, so this really concerns me. However, I only came across that from one person, so I am trying to find out what the schools really are like, and what scared that person away. What is wrong with the sewer system and septic tanks?

More social math:

Rednecks in big ol' pickup trucks <> good schools

(The <> sign means "not equal to")
