Moving to Eugene (or anywhere in Oregon)?
Many great things about it. Eugene is where I live and although I could nit-pick a few things (lack of many good restaurants and a bit too gray) I like it. Small town feel with many offerings of a larger town.

But-----if you think you might have Lyme disease---- wrong state.

If a doctor does agree to treat you for Lyme disease it will almost certainly be using the IDSAs protocol. If your tick bite resulted in a bulls-eye rash and if you get antibiotics 'yesterday' (insert exaggeration emoticon here) then you may get either 'cured' or go into a remission that may last 'forever'.

If several months have elapsed then the chances are dramatically reduced. The IDSA guidelines state that most cases of Lyme disease are successfully treated with a few weeks of antibiotics.

The guidelines go on saying that using antibiotics for a very long time (months or years) can be dangerous.

How can so many people with Lyme (and only get better when they're on long-term antibiotics) be wrong?

Please read all the information at this site:

Something that should be known and is repeated isn't a 'rehash' in my mind. I hope you never get Lyme.

Why so many threads? Just bump the Old thread. Oh wait. I think bumping is frowned on.
