Yeah, if you want to "self-defend" in your own home, with a gun, you are better off in Colorado where they passed a "make my day" home defense law. Not recommended as a tactic anywhere else. The restraining order is much easier route to go, if you can't afford it contact legal aid.

I think the protective order is a good idea when he violates it maby they can do something about that. Maby get a video camera for evidence. any time you see him in town take a cell phone photo for proof and the more you bug the police the more they will do . Don't give up it could cost your life.Call the local news paper or tv station and talk about what happened and what the police arn't doing.Make a big scene if you see him in public. witnesses r good. get a dog a big big dog.
