Hi everyone! I posted a thread about a month or two ago searching for suggestions on short-term rentals for my husband and I after relocating from Harrisburg, PA to Eugene. We have 2 Air BnBs booked through July 8, but we are now looking for something permanent.

Ideally, we would like to purchase a mobile home for about $17k or less. If we are able to securing financing, we would be willing to take that number up to around $85k, but I don't know how quick or easy it is to do so and we are in a bit of a time crunch. Right now, we are staying in Junction City and are loving the location, so we don't need to be right in town. Anywhere within 25 miles or so would be acceptable.

Since time is quickly flying, we are also considering rentals. It seems like this is a tough time to be looking. We do have a 35 lb dog which adds some trouble to the mix. If we were able to find a month-to-month rental, we can push our budget to $1500/mo. However, if we have to sign a year lease I would like it keep it under $1100.

I have used craigslist, google, zillow, trulie, and hotpads. I'm going to do some driving today and stop in to some mobile home parks and apartment complexes to see what we can find. However, I wanted to put my feelers out here in case anyone had some suggestions because you have been a great help to me in the past!

P.S. My husband and I are celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary today, so if anyone has any nice restaurant suggestions to offer, I'd love to hear it! haven't made it out enough since our arrival on Saturday to know what's good!

Thanks in advance!!

I'll think about the housing question.

For restaurants, it depends what you like. (And budget). If you're looking at "finer" dining, Mame (sushi) is supposed to be very good, Soriah is nice. Beppe & Gianni's is a nice space for Italian (though I haven't been there in forever), and UO is out of session so it shouldn't be crowded.

Marche (French) has nice ambience, though I haven't there in forever either.

There are also a whole bunch of brewpub type places (Bier Stein, Steelhead, yada yada) if that's more your speed.

And I always forget about it, but Bruno's Chef's Kitchen is worth a look despite the location, albeit it's on the far side of the city from Junction City: www.brunoschefskitchen.com |

If you're wanting something a little more affordable, but still very Eugene, I'd suggest Poppi Anatolia's, which is a charming little space and a mixed menu of Greek/Indian. 15 years ago I would have said it's primarily a burrito and pizza town, but that has changed at least a fair bit.

So yeah, probably too many options to make a recommendation all that helpful. If you wanted super fancy, make reservations at King Estates, perhaps.

A mobile home for $17,000 or less? That's going to have to be in a park and it is going to be an older home.

Something like this? Saw it on CL. It's in Junction City, but that seems like a pretty nice town and close enough to commute to Eugene.

How did you like staying at the farm? I really enjoyed my time there.
