I am contemplating about retiring in Cottage Grove, OR. But I remember reading about the race tracks being too loud and bothersome to neighbors nearby. So, how far from it would be ok? I saw some nice little houses on and around main street (east and west). BTW how's this area in general? Greatly appreciate any inside info!

We have property on the west side of Cottage Grove at the edge of town. It's about 2 miles from the race track, if you drew a straight line and you can easily hear the races. Doesn't bother me but some people I know who live there can't stand the sound.

Have you had any experience with the hospital by Walmart?

I live in Creswell and often think about CG, but it seems like it lacks in medical resources and would just put me even further from the ones in Eugene.
