Urban Runner - We saw a property that seemed to fit what you were looking for over the weekend. We went out to a U-Pick berry farm up in the north River Rd. area. (I think it's called the Riverbrook neighborhood?) If you look at a street map of Eugene... find the intersection of River Rd. and Beltline hwy... then go north on River Rd. until you see River Rd. Loop #1 or #2... that neighborhood has a wonderful feeling and sweet little houses and some small organic farms. We saw a 4 bedroom home, 2,040 sq.ft., with an asking price of $249. It was on half an acre and looked really nice. You could walk down the street and pick your own organic raspberries and bllueberries. Horses and goats were grazing in other yards nearby, and lots of old wonderful trees. It felt like country but it is close in to the city. Just thought I'd post this for you in case it helps - and to help get this thread back on topic.

I thought I'd give the zip - 97404. If you go to RMLS.com™ Regional Multiple Listing Service - Home you can search for properties there. It's a good resource.

We saw lots of chickens in yards, too! Also a few people with farm stands in front of their homes. It was such a cool neighborhood. We've lived in Eugene almost 4 years now and we just now discovered it, and are so glad we have. We'll probably buy our first home in that area very soon! There were several for sale...

Thanks! I think this is very much what we had in mind and will have to check out this area.
