hey guys, just moved here to Eugene... and looking for a cheap weekly to lay my head while I hunt for a place... you know the type (if you've been to Portland think N Interstate or in Medford N Riverside) - something around $35 a night or $150-$200 a week... I dont mind going as far as Springfield... I tried google... but finding a local cheapie on google is impossible as "hotel or motel" just gets you a barrage of travelocity/hotel booking type sites... is there a strip or a few blocks around here that has these places.. all i need is a phone and cable and no bugs... most of the ones around 4th/6th inner W were still like $220-$280 a week, looking for way less - any ideas?

Good luck. Most of them are gonna run you at least 280. Just call around instead of internet.

Here's an alternative from airbnb for $30 per night: small, cute, rustic country cabin in Eugene

There are some other options on that site that are more centrally located but the prices are all higher than your budget. Still, I think you could ask any of them for a lower "monthly rate" for the first month, and then weekly afterwards, and the average might work out ok.

Good luck!

Just remember you will be sharing space with the Meth Freaks in most of those weekly motels.
