You can find this info by searching around online...

I'll just say, too, that the prison system here is very differently run than how they do things in Texas. I'm a Texas native. Oregon has a bit of a reputation for having a revolving door policy, whereas it seemed in Texas people took the prison system more seriously and definitely took keeping criminals locked up more seriously. Oregon is just very different in the way it deals with crime. People aren't happy about it, yet they also don't want to pay the money to do anything about it, so nothing ever really changes. At least, this is how it seems to us as non-natives living here.

Having actually worked in a prison (Last job as Day Shift Complex Security Supervisor) And being familiar with both state's systems, you will be fine and should be able to get a job.

The o/p has not been back for nearly three years, so your "advice" wil almost certainly never be read by him.

I am sure it will be read by others with the same question. I believe that is the purpose of this forum. To provide relocation answers. As a previous State prison employee I am offering answers based on experience, not guesses, not only for the OP, but all those with the same question.

Oh, absolutely! Current/recent and relevant information is always welcome. And people are free to assess its value on their own.

I see the new prison in Junction City is still on the books along with the asylum.

The closest prison to Eugene is in Salem. The State Prison. That is 60 miles away.

Update. The asylum is still a go, but the prison is officially scrapped.

The Statesman Journal announanced the new Mental Hospital will be started soon. They do hire security staff with prison experience. This is a good thing for Junction City.
