I used to live in Eugene many years ago. It wasn't my cup of tea, but since this is a positive thread, I will say that there where some cool bars, and the live music scene was pretty decent for a city that size.

I just spoke with my old land lady from three years ago and she told me there's a housing crisis in Eugene. The rents on the place we use to stay went up between $400 - $500 in the past three years. I hadn't realized it had stretched all the way out there and I just read it's as far as Roseburg even where people are being displaced by what's happening in Oregon.

I remember when we first moved there Eugene had a huge homeless population compared to other places I had lived. It seems disproportionate to the population of the city. Part of that I recall is they flocked there during the 2011 Occupy Movement and stayed.

We loved Oregon though. There's too much about Eugene to name it all but really what it came down to is the people. The people make it great.

"What do you exactly like about Eugene?"
Well I can say I love the greenery!!
I love that there are pinetrees that cover all the "mountains" in the area.
I love that there are rivers that run through the area and all the wildlife you can find on the banks.
I love the cool mornings and warm afternoons and then cool evenings when the sun goes down.
I love that it feels and smells refreshing every morning.
I love that there are small businesses here (can't wait to check them out.)
I love that there are stores in the area other than Wal-Mart and Target to shop at.
I love that it rains and is not dry and hot.
I am from the desert of Vegas so this is great!!!
