In my quest for cheap flights to random places i've come across an inexpensive flight to Skopje for a few days. I'm all about going to unique places, is Skopje worth visiting?

In my opinion every city in worth visiting, so if you have a good deal – why not? OK, Skopje is not a beautiful city; old Skopje was destroyed in the earthquake early 60s and was not rebuilt but a modernist commie-block city has been developed. Of old things I remember there’s the fortress overlooking the city, old bridge and oriental quarter. Recently they have some controversial reconstruction of old buildings and new ones in neo-classic architecture, plus the city is being dotted with dozens of statues of all kinds, including a huge Alexander of Macedonia.

skopje is a place u could probably visit in one day. there really isnt much there. u can get a good view of the city going up by cable car to the mountain where the cross is. one of the good things about skopje is food is very very cheap. althoughtowns like veles food is even cheaper.lake ogrid is quite beautiful but macedonia really is a very small country with limitted things to see and do.
