We have several rappers in town, and they sing in Catalan or Spanish. One is particularly hated by the Mayor. There is also a Raggae band, etc.

Here, rural people usually love Rock, heavy metal, southern rock. Quite recently I was at a nice "Pub" in a little town in Castille (they pronounce it as "poof"). They were playing Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Status Quo and the place was packed with young and hairy countrymen dressed as rednecks chain smoking reefers (smoking in bars and smoking reefers in public venues is forbidden, but rednecks don't give a crap).

England.

None. Perhaps the most dissimilar countries in the world. There's more similarity between the US and Paraguay than between the US and England-Ireland.

Quite natural, immigrants and refugees wanted a new world totally different from the country they departed.

I don't think so somehow.

Currency means nothing.

The Irish dialect is a bit more similar to American English, but still quite different.
And beyond dialects I don't think either country is similar to the US. Americans often say Britain is their closest ally and stuff like that, but I guess few Americans know that Britain is one of the most - what Americans would call - socialist and liberal countries in Europe.

I think Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Status Quo are all English bands.

Not Ireland.

Ireland tries to have a closer ties with the European Union.....while England tries to distinguish itself by preferring a "special" relationship with the European Union without following all the criteria instead and acting like a rebellious teenager (like how the US is when other countries criticize its global policies).

Hell, the Conservative Party is promising the public that it will hold a referendum if it should still stay with the European Union.
