I am just curious if there are still people out there in Europe who would become American or Canadian citizens. Would you be open to moving to either country, or just one or the other? Or would you never dream of leaving your country for those places? If you aren't interested, do you know people who still want to immigrate there?
I'd never give up my Austrian passport. But sure, I'd probably spend a couple of years in the US or Canada when I had the chance to do so. I'd also move to China, Russia or Australia when there's the right job offer, though.
I guess most of the people I know would do the same.
My parents immigrated with my sister and I in 1988. My sister returned to Europe 3 years ago. Now my parents & I are as well in the next 3 years. They will sell their home 5 minutes away from the beach and retire in Europe. USA is not the place for Whites unless you are wealthy.
I'd live in another country for some time for sure, but i dont know if id ever leave for the rest of my life. Its not very likely that that other country would be the US or Canada though, ive never been so interested in either. If i were to move its probably within Europe, or to South America.
I would definitely want to live in the US or Canada for a while, just to see what it is like. I don't think I could ever permanently move to another continent, so far away from my family and friends.
If I moved to the US, I'd probably settle in a small town in one of the more liberal states. If I moved to Canada, I'd prefer living in the francophone area.
I know plenty of people who would like to live in the US or Canada, though perhaps not on a permanent basis. In fact, I just said goodbye to one of my colleagues (Cuban-Dutch) last week, who is going to move to Houston to be with her boyfriend.
If travelling to North America wasn't so expensive, I'm sure more Europeans would love to go there.
For a few years, sure. In the US, I'd pick somewhere in the NE or the Pacific NW, such as Boston, New York, Seattle, Portland. In Canada, I'd probably pick Toronto and Montreal, but maybe also St. John's or Vancouver.
