Sound to me like Irish culture may be more high involvement as well.
It's possible to be warm and friendly without talking over others and interrupting. Talking over people and interrupting is just rude. I haven't noticed Af. Americans doing that at all.

Yes, please, pick every word I wrote apart, a la CD style, and find some tiny flaw to make a big deal out of. Why ignore mole hills when you can raise them into mighty mountains?

To clarify: not talking over people as in interrupting. Talking over as in many conversation going on at once among the same group of people. Sorry if that was confusing.

Very rare. Those in London tend to be non-Brit.

I've seen some fairly horrific scenes at Covent Gardens, but I've never made an effort to identify their nationality - I'm usually too drunk anyway.

Most British city centres are pretty unpleasant places after 1am - Scantly-clad ladies walking home, bare-foot, heels in hand, whatever the weather, tipsy, booze-ridden 20-somethings pouring out of bars and onto the streets, occasionally erupting into a brawl.

I'm not one of them though.. I don't think.

Well I've seen a whole lot in the places in the UK that I lived. They were definitely Brit - a lot of them I knew from school.

I was out on Friday. The center of Turdku was pretty peaceful and full of happy people.

'Rude' is culturally relative. Many cultures can hve a conversation without making an moderated electoral debate out of it and they seem to understand each other just fine.
