Why are you including Scandinavia if you are talking about finns?

I have met Swedish, Finnish and Danish people. They are all very nice people, I think they just arent as outgoing and talkative as people from other cultures. There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you need to be more accepting of this and learn how to interact with people in these countries?

I find them to be fascinating people to have intellectual conversations with.

What causes the Irish to be SO FRIENDLY and the Scandinavians so chilly?

Guinness and whiskey.

Nope! We have no common border with Greenland. Although the most southerly point of the British Isles has no frost, the Scilly Isles. The most northern point is further north than the most southern tip of Greenland and Norway is not far off.

I noticed the letter in the FT last week by the ex Finish ambassador to the USA. He was emphasising that Finland is more Scandinavian in history and outlook, not Russian. Clearly to stop Russians moving in as they may think Russians are there to protect.

I've heard that Scandinavians are very reserved, it doesn't seem like a very nice place to live despite all the liveability stats.

Finland is as Russian as the UK is Portuguese.

Oh, right. You're nearly in Norway, pardon our error. In fact, some of you (up north there) spoke a Norse derivative until about 150 years ago.
