Well, you've just given me another good list of Czech places to research

I think CR is more medieval, beautiful and colorful than Austria as in architecture (Austria is mostly white with less ornamentation). It seems esp. Bohemia was wealthier than Austria at one point. I mean Linz is a total meh city compared to Plzen or Ceske Budejovice (Budweiser beer's birthplace). Ditto for Graz. Even Hungarian towns seemed more colorful than Austrian ones. Austria's all about the natural scenery and mountains, their cities look too nondescript. Kinda like most of Slovakia but they still have more rustic/castles. Czechia and Hungary imo are the more beautiful couple as in architecture of the 4 ex Austrian empire states in Central Europe. The other two get the better scenery/mountains. But their architecture is sterile. Don't say Germany's modern or dull, Regensburg and even Passau wipe the floor with Linz or Graz. Much rather visit Debrecen or Plzen than those 2.

I spent the very best Christmas vacation of my life accidentally snowed in in Brno, Czech Republic. I also got to spend a few days in Jihlava, which I highly recommend.

Frankly, I've been to Austria numerous times and every single time I go, I realize that I don't much care for the Austrian people or Austria in general.

I street viewed some random towns and wow. Just WOW!

Domazlice, Klatovy, Stribro have surprisingly nice old architecture and vibes. And those are all in the neglected region of Western Bohemia. Karlovy Vary looks like it's Monaco without a sea, in fact it's more beautiful
and Marianske Lazne is nice, too. Cheb (Eger) is Bavarian-looking but also very nice. I can't think of so many gems in the poorer parts of most other European countries (usually lower income areas are drab with commie architecture with nothing to see such as Pernik in Bulgaria, Ruda Slaska or Sosnowiec in Poland).

The best thing about Western Bohemia is how close forests and nature is to every town. Also, the rolling hills. Germany with its many small medieval towns is also next door. Austria's not far either with their wonderful Alps (I also prefer Czech architecture and food. Salzburg has the fantastic nature though.)

^as bad this is it's nothing compared to Poland where you get small towns with commie flats right on the main marketplace plus modernist churches or some towns in Romania. I think Poland and Romania suffered far more in terms of architecture than Czechoslovakia. Within Czechoslovakia it seems Slovakia suffered more.

Anyone knows the Charle's bridge in Prague. But did you know the only other gate bridge left in the Czech Republic is in Stříbro, a small town very close to the German border? I keep discovering gems on Street View in the area.

Ok, I hate to repeat myself but wow, this looks like straight out from a fairy tail. It's Klatovy, close to the Czech/Bavarian border: I'll just link it this time: https://www.123rf.com/photo_47946157...-republic.html
And even smaller towns like Stribro (7 685 people) have something to offer, besides the second gate bridge in Czechia (the only other one is the Charles' Bridge in Prague):https://www.kudyznudy.cz/files/f3/f3...20200827211810

Pilsen's more of an industrial city and yet it has the 2nd largest synagogue in Europe and quite neat old town:

But if you prefer the countryside Western Bohemia also has this:

and it's own version of Stonehenge:

and even a beach at Horni Plana:

Why do I get the impression you don't really hate to repeat yourself?
