I love my country wich is the richest in southern europe (if you don t consider france southern europe).

Apparently northern europeans know southern europe only from summer vacation periods.

while southern europeans, know northern europe mostly for work opportuneties.

i just know only two expats of northern europe living in italy.

northern and southern europe are worlds apart. I like it that way and i wish it stays that way.

I don't think they care either way, as long as they can drag their bones to the warm coast to get some sun, and southerners do not interfere with the process)))

I think many people have quite a bipolar view of Southern Europe. On one hand we laugh at their politicans, chaos and poor economy, find people lazy and unreliable, but on the other hand we admire the food, lifestyle and culture. But generally I think people here have a pretty positive view of Spain, Italy and Portugal.

I wouldn't say Southern European cultures are a world away, the Chinese and Japanese cultures are a world away, Southern Europe is just different. And strikingly similar in some ways.

Yes, with similarities i agree.. similarities are sfumatures by kms of distance usually. As the middle east and north africa fade gradually at the southern tips of southern europe too. Like northern europe too.
i could post music stiles to give the idea.
