According to Wikipedia, Charlie Hebdo had a circulation rate of 45,000 before the attacks. I don't think that is large for a nation with as many people as France. Is it one of those publications whose influence is measured more by who reads it rather than how many people read it?
I don't think there is an American equivalent to CH.
France Infos also reporting another assault by LE at Vincennes where other terrorists took hostages in a Jewish supermarket in Vincennes. Not clear if any hostages were killed or injured.
But it's still undetermined how many people were killed when the supermarket was assaulted by the hostage taker(s) or even how many of the latter there were. Even if hostages were killed do you really think this was going to get resolved without violence. Sucks that people get killed, but if I'm ever a hostage I'm not going to sit there and think that my life is more important than preventing a potentially much bigger tragedy from occurring.
Wouldn't be surprised if this was a contract killing, sponsored by oil money.
Normally terrorists don't try to escape like this, probably have a couple million euro's waiting for them.
