Hello, my travel companions and I have a dilemma. So the three of us (all females) are traveling to Berlin on 2 July. We are debating between staying at Novum Hotel Ravenna Berlin Steglitz or Karl Marx Hostel in Neukolln. For 6 nights, the "3-star" hotel will cost us 270 EUR each and we each have our own room, but one of my companions (who is the most budget conscious out of the 3 of us) is saying that it is too long of a commute from the hotel to the Berlin city center where all the tourist attractions are. For the same duration/time, the hostel with one room of 3 beds (1 bunk bed for 2, 1 single bed) will cost us 127 EUR each, and transportation may be faster to the city center. So basically we are arguing about comfort vs faster commute. Any thoughts? Anyone who's familiar or been to either places? I am ok with the prices of either one, I am more concerned about location and possible issues with the living accommodations (safety, comfort, etc).
