LA because it's "Americana XXXL". Otherwise if it's to have some watered down european atmosphere, may as well stay in Europe!
LA, to me, feels very atypical American.
Relatively few whites, almost no blacks, mostly thin people, small homes on tiny lots, and very localized weather and culture. To me, it's among the least all-American cities, probably along with San Francisco, NYC, Miami and New Orleans.
