Tens of thousands of migrants are coming every week by boat from Turkey to Greece and then continuing on to Western Europe. Why doesn't Europe have some type of Coast Guard and stop the boats and rafts from getting into European waters? If they are not allowed into the waters near the Greece Islands, they won't come in such large numbers. It seems so simple. What am I missing?

So because they are human beings does that give everyone on earth the right to move to the country of their choice if they can find a way to get there?

In America, the border patrol makes at least some effort using guns and force to stop the masses of people who want to get to America for a better life. Why can't Europe have a border patrol with guns and military approach too?

That does not give them the right to invade other countries.

Do you strafe Mexicans? Last news was they are already in Alaska.
They did not strafe you well enough when you invaded one third of their country.

The EU has no common defense force on land, at sea or in the air. It does have an astronaut, however, and a space agency to go with it. The EU also does not have a customs and border patrol agency, but it does have its own department of state.

In many ways, the EU represents and even more poorly organized version of the 13 independent American Colonies during the period of the Articles of Confederation. Still, many members oppose increasing the power of the EU government, the EC. These are generally the same people who like to see a "military solution" to the current refugee crisis.

Can you even compare the problems you have by the Mexican border with the challenges facing Europe and refugees? I mean, look at the map. We have Africa and the Middle East right on our doorstep. Wars and instability everywhere. People are desperate. Even by Norway's border with Russia in the arctic zone are refugees, many Syrians, now pouring through every day. I can only imagine the problems further south on the continent with these masses of people. You guys have two large oceans protecting you from these problems.

Border patrol and coast guards can do a good job at intercepting individuals but not crowds of thousands, or at least not without the use of unethical force.
