Here in Brazil it's impossible to imagine an italian party without these and other songs. Does this happens in other countries too?
What about Italy, do Italians dance these songs? In what events?

These songs are still used but i wouldn't tell you they are popular. They are heard mostly on special occasions such as wedding parties (even then, much of it is up to the newlyweds), anniversaries, festivals and folk events but that's it.

There are regions where they are more popular and are being revamped. One of those is Salento where the local Folk Festival attracts as much as 100000 people on its final day.

It is mostly a southern thing, but around here there are some tarantella parties every now and then.

In Bologna and nearby, the traditional music is liscio, but I could not say it is very popular for young people (well, people under 60)

I mainly associate folklorist music with the festivals-fairs that are organized in the villages and little towns in the countryside (usually these events are dedicated to some kind of cultivation - food, such as "the festival of the truffle").

In the valleys of North-western Itly (in particular in the Cuneo province) the "balli occitani" are still famous and are an important part of the festivals I named earlier.

^here they are also wearing traditional costumes, but this is not so common.

Over a larger area of Norther Italy dances like this one are quite famous too (but nowadays really few young people would like to dance like that)
