I voted Frankfurt since so much of the commercial part of the city is new, modern-looking glass tower construction. It's still not remotely close to any American city. Among other things, the public transportation is far too good and the city is far too clean.
Why are people voting for London? Just because English people speak English, it does not make it "American". Its urban layout cannot be any more different than most American cities.

It does share popular culture with the US far more than any other city in Europe, maybe that's why some people think it should be on the list? The language and linked history (both huge 'ties') could also be considered I guess? As for its urban layout I suggest that the layout of London has a lot to do with the age of the place, it is probably 'laid out' far more similarly to other cities in Europe that are of a similar age?

Possibly because it's an international city? But then again so is Frankfurt and it looks much more like a traditional American city IMO.
