Thanks! but I found out I can not just move there, looks like the only way to move to Norway is for close family, education or work. I did send out a few applications, but they were turned down, I'll try again, in person this time, next month when I travel over there.

Most people move to nicer climates, why move to a colder/snowy area?
I have family there, distant, but still and I am the third generation born in the US. We would use Norway as a home base, while we do some traveling.....if I can't get into Norway, I am looking at Serbia, looks like if you buy a home, in Serbia, you can apply for residency and get it, things are also real cheap there so my income from the states, will go a lot further....

Not knocking you, I am just curious.
The Romsdal area has a milder climate than Houston, Alaska. You usually need to head for the mountains to experience proper snowfall. The costal regions south of Trondheim are surprisingly mild for their latitude, thanks to the Gulf Stream.
