To the gym? Yay? Nay? Personally, I could never. I would feel totally uncomfortable and like I was asking to be looked at. Considering the few females I see who do this at my gym, well I'm a woman and I look lol. This is in no way attacking women who do this. Just curious as to if this is considered normal gym attire these days?

You should probably wear some pants or a skirt or something too lest you get arrested. Also shoes unless you fancy getting worms or athletes foot or something.

If the sports bra is a color, I don't see a problem with it. Nike has some that are a bit larger than your typical sports bra and honestly it looks more like exercise wear or marathon wear. I am much too modest so I stick with the long running shirts with the built in sports bra. Even then, because they are sleeveless I feel like it is borderline. I don't see a problem with it as long as it covers enough. I have more of a problem with the people that wear cotton and not moisture wicking material and drip sweat all over the place. Yuck!!

I go to a rather upscale gym so you don't see many women who do this there. Personally, I think it's trashy and just a cry for attention. There's no reason not to wear a tank top or something to cover yourself.

This is the first time ever I hear anybody have an issue about this! lol, only in America I guess.
I think you are totally fine wearing a sports-bra at the gym. There are no difference then to wear a bikini on the beach; Or to wear a belly-shirt on a hot summer day. There are a place for everything.
What is an up-scale gym anyways. Are people that work out there fancier then people from an ordinary gyms like 24 hour fitness? Maybe do they wear suit and tie while running on the treadmill ?

It's a limited membership gym with state of the art machinery and strict rules, including dress code. It's a gym for people who are serious about working out, not people who are looking to put on a show.

At the beach a bikini is appropriate. At the gym, a sports bra is a bra, and a bra is meant to be an undergarment. Unless, of course, you are Madonna circa 1980.

I disagree with all of you. I think Sports-bra is appropriate and these women do not look trashy.

I would guess because it has the word bra in it.

Yea, that sounds about right. Its just too sexual of a word.
I understand if you feel uncomfortable showing skin, but not all women wear it to show off either.
