The reasons I exercise:

1. To lose weight. So I can fit in smaller, more attractive clothing instead of ugly plus size tents.

2. To strengthen my injured knee in hopes I can one day walk and move like a normal person again. Originally I started exercise to achieve balance too because I had nearly lost the ability to walk and climb stairs and had to relearn how to do that over again as well as learn to stand without falling over. (had neurological injuries)

3. As pain management. Working out eases my joint pains if I do the right exercises and makes endorphins to fight the severe pain from an autoimmune illness that painkillers do not help.

4. To get back in good shape in hopes one day I can return to taekwondo and judo classes instead of just being able to do tai chi.

5. So people will quit making fun of me. Well they don't now that I moved back to Southeastern US. But in West complete strangers would yell nasty things at me in store because I was overweight and one person told me they wouldn't be my friend because they didn't want to be seen with me.

6. Because I want to be "different" than other Southerners. It really motivated me to move back and see how fat the South is. To see children that were over 250 lbs and high schoolers even wearing 4x & 5x size clothing really made me rethink how I grew up learning to eat bad foods and not exercise.

7. For health reasons- to be at the optimum of good health and not have to take any meds.

8. Because it affects my mental health in a positive manner and uplifts my spirits to exercise. On weekends I get depressed taking my 2 days off to rest body. It also motivates me to achieve other goals since I see myself being able to work out for several hours a day.

I exercise because:

1. It keeps me healthy (and younger looking also).

2. Shoots my confidence and self-esteem levels way up high (I like myself better when I workout everyday).

3. For spirituality (I'm one with God during that time a lot and it's a great way of meditation).

4. Helps my clothes fit better on me (never have to worry about tight jeans much anymore. Perfect snug fit every time).

5. I love to eat, so it keeps my weight down so I can eat anything still (in small portions of course).

6. To stay active (it gets harder to stay active when you get older and I think exercise, of any kind, is a great way to keep it as a habit to keep moving most of the day).
