Wondering what this is about? I see this one guy at the gym who not only shaves his legs but it looks like he even shaves under his arms (I was at the pull up bar station and he was next to me--I couldn't help but not notice this)

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't get why a guy would shave his legs? Fwiw, the guy is muscular--not Arnold muscular, pretty solid muscles though.

Can someone fill me in on why guys do this, please?

Oh please, I do this all the time. I don't like being hairy and scary

There's only one part in my body where hair is allowed - the head

Some guy swimmers will do this before a race ~ supposedly it reduces 'drag' and makes them swim faster.

He might be a swimmer. And some runners shave their legs too.

Otherwise, I'll think the guy is gay. lol

Maybe it's a generational thing, but I love a man to look like a man--hair and all. I love the differences and hair comes along with a man, so I'm all for it. I think it's "manly" but I guess I'm old?

Unless the man is a professional cyclist or pro athlete, I find it repulsive and effeminate. No, I'm not saying all men who shave their legs or armpits are gay (Andre Agassi did it and he is straight). But I've never known any straight woman who finds this attractive.

Nothing is as sexy as a man with blonde hair all over his arms and legs!

i think it may be more acceptable for older people (and they pretend its preferred) because thats what they are used to and stuck with for the most part. im pretty sure my mother would say she prefers hairy but i dont believe that she would be saying that if she was 20 (and good luck getting her ex-husband or her current boyfriend to shave).

i shave my arms, chest, pits, the package and my wife shaves my back when ill be shirtless in public. im not as on top of it as in the past now that im old and have a daughter, but im very happy doing it. it looks better. one thing about shaving is that once you do it, its hard to stop because hairy looks messy to you.

oh and i dont think anyone would ever seriously suggest that im gay.

I believe they do it because the hair hides the muscle definition.

Personally I like men to have a little hair here and there. If my husband was clean-shaven anywhere other than his face I'd probably point and laugh!
