People fart during yoga all the time. All the twisting poses are basically designed to squeeze the funk out. Yogis are very polite and spiritual about it and call it "toxins." How genteel.

I was just at karate class and we were doing stretches and someone in front of me let a few out! LOL!!

And then when I got home, I decided to do some jumping jacks and while I was around my 54th one, I started letting loose with each jump! LOL!

Has anything like that ever happened to you?
Wow, that is kinda distressing. But sometimes it is kinda nice when you have had a good workout or a nice meal. In some countries farting is a compliment to the chef. Maybe if you have a Personal Trainer or instructor they would consider your farting a compliment.

Uh....no. I'm a personal trainer and I don't consider it a compliment when one of my clients rips one during a workout.
I usually just respond with that great line from Rodney Dangerfield after he cut one at that dinner party in CaddyShack: "What? Did someone just step on a duck?"

Okay, I must be 10 years old at heart, because I'm LOL at this thread!

But yes, I'm sure just about everyone has farted and/or heard farting during a workout... it's only natural, especially during yoga as somebody mentioned above. If you're really concerned about it, just refrain from eating gas-inducing foods (i.e. fruit, red meat, cheese, etc) before going to the gym.

How about farting as exercise?
This could be an effective core routine....although best practiced alone.

When you're at the gym or in and around large amounts of people, remember this question....

"Can you trust a fart?"

I'm sorry to say that sometimes the answer is a resounding, messy "no."

No, but I have a friend who does it by accident on a semi-regular basis. He eats funky food or he pushes just a little too hard or whatnot

It's hilarious. One time he farted in my car and I told him that if he did that, he was buying my car- otherwise I'd have to deal with his DNA forever embedded in the seat.
