I am interested in women and why so many have an anti-fitness, anti-muscle attitude.
Feel free to start another thread about Un-fit guys if it is an issue you want to discuss.
I took your advice and started a thread entitled "Obesity and gender" in the "Diet and Weight Loss" subforum of the Health and Wellness Forum. I mention this just in case some folks who have been following this thread are interested in the more generalized gender issues.

1. Muscles DO NOT make a woman look manly.
2. Many women want to look muscular/toned/fit.
3. I am muscular and not the least manly lol. Workout your glutes,
you get a nice toned round tush. Nothing manly about it.
4. Does she look manly? I think not! Felicia: Google Images
5. I am very close to her (physically), just slightly less muscular but trying to get there and so far have never turned anyone off by my muscles/manliness (LOL)

You can be toned and have definition without looking like a beast. As a matter of fact, toned muscle burns more calories-even at rest-than carrying fat. Sorry your trip down the river denial continues; I hope you DO correct your course.

Not true like I said before you have to be born with a big butt. You either have one or you dont. "Squats" do almost nothing

I'm muscular in the sense that I'm (relatively) toned. I'm no bodybuilder, nor an athlete (I haven't got as much self-discipline, alas), but you won't see my thighs or my stomach having the typical jelly-like waves of flesh when I run. This is subjective, but I think that muscle (not necessarily huge bulging muscle) looks better than fat in both men and women. My body is of course every bit as feminine as yours.

I have body fat (boobs are almost entirely made up of adipose tissue, after all): a minimum is always advisable for women to have their reproductive health in good condition, and by the way more than that percentage of body fat can be as much unhealthy or more for your hormonal cycle, your ability to become pregnant and deliver healthy babies, etc. We've already dealt with how having too much fat impairs your general health and wellbeing but, for women specifically, it's more than mere aesthethics too.

I think after 20 or 30 pages of discussion TreasuredJewel is not going to change her feelings about femininity and fitness.

She is not going to approve or think highly of women who have developed muscles from exercising.

Agreed. And I had already concluded that her feelings are basically sour grapes

Fitness is not feminine. Playing sports is not feminine. Martial arts is not feminine. You wont change my mind. Muscles just do not look feminine to me. Sorry if you don't like my opinion, I don't like any of yours either.

Also they don't need me to approve of anything. Yet people criticize me from left and right. What about my feelings? That's right no one cares because I am fat and I smell...
