Each person has to figure out the right combination of diet & exercise for their body type. For some people, this takes a lifetime...

I would imagine this can be rather difficult and discouraging, especially for younger people who do not have as much experience or patience with trial & error.
its also difficult when you top everything you eat with a generous helping of cheese, cream sauce or combination of the two.

that person didnt provide a list of what she actually eats in a day. just a bunch of random food choices she may have. if you limit your amount, there is no food that you cant eat and remain thin. so you dont have any clue what her average daily caloric intake is, but you are ready to declare her "diet" as proof of a fat gene! you have already declared it in your own mind, as have many other chunkies.
I just find it weird and obviously you are being very unhonest. Everyone else can eat junk foods but when i do I have high BP and am prediabetic. Your right it has absolutely nothing to do with genes. especially since these people have never been fat before.

Arrow Feels good to be lighter.. and fitting into smaller jeans.

D217
I went to the gym (YMCA) with my extra weight..
Used the treadmill and equipment to burn fat & speed up metabolism
which in turn encouraged healthy eating six small meals a day. k
It had been suggested to me I may have had a sluggish thyroid.
Got it checked. It was fine. I just ate wrong with blinders on and excuses..
looking for easy answers.
It doesn't work.

GET UP. UNPLUG ALL THE EXCESS TECHNOLOGY...and put one foot in front of the other.

I am almost 60 y/o and in 3 months I lost 30 pounds. Wouldn't you like to see 30 less pounds on the scale? Hey, the time is gonna pass anyway. We both know you can do this..

The decision is all about doing vs. talking about it. Its jumping in rather than sitting there. GET UP ..GO... it feels good to be lighter.. and to pick out smaller jeans.

I am plus sized and if I lost 30lbs i would still be plus sized. If you didn't know plus size clothes are some of the ugliest on earth. Skinny girls get everything. thanks for your encouragement though.

not having that magic fat gene issssss awesome!!!!

i could make a list like the other person of all the delicous bad stuff i may eat in a given week. but as long as i keep my overall calories low, i can still keep from gaining unwanted poundage.

CaptainNJ sounds like you are doing it right by staying below the wire..
keeping calories down.. way to go.

however the jewel and I lost count somewhere along the way.. I never said I was done.. I still have another 30 or more to go.. yes I know all about the ugly fat clothes and how hard it is to feel pretty in them.. How sad to admit I called my clothes "uniforms" because there were only a few articles of clothing I would wear so I'd wear them over and over.. enough about that.
I probably would have stayed in the same place.. BUT a long time friend living many states away said they'd be coming to visit me .. (and I had many months to prepare). You know that adrenaline rush you feel, like a bolt of energy to clean the house when someone is coming over?? Well that kicked in when I heard the news I shot over to the "Y" before I knew what hit me. Whenever you sense the jolt ~ act upon it. I am not a slender willowy physique, but I'm am not gonna throw in the towel anymore. If you summon up your inner grace with the dignity you have within yourself and start with small steps, it WILL pay off. It only takes a little success to make a big success. If you can lift your hands, and type with your fingers you can also take some steps on a treadmill or an elliptical. Start small.. its more than you are doing now.. gradually build up..
YOU CAN DO IT..

WRONG! I was fat before I became fit. 35 lbs heavier. Didn't exercise, didn't watch what I eat. The reason I can occasionally eat junk food and deep dish pizza is because of my workouts. Last Autumn, I hurt my back and although I cut back on portions I gained 7 lb because I wasn't able to work out. Took me about 6 months to lose it, but I did.
I would agree that some people lose weight more quickly than others. I would also argue that you are not working out long enough, often enough or with enough intensity based on your past posts. And when you are not burning enough calories, lapses in food choices are magnified.
