The gym is just a building. It is a combination of the equipment you use the type of exercises you do and your overall dedication. One factor you cannot and should not ignore is your genetic potential. be realistic about your goals and be the best you can be.
Just sharing a list of protein content per calorie on meats vs. veggies: FAQ | Dr Fuhrman.com
Broccoli has almost twice the amount of protein per 100 calories than 100 calories of beef. Plus it has more nutrients as a whole.
Right, but can you eat an entire head of broccoli in one sitting? Probably not. Also, broccoli doesn't have a full range/set of amino's that beef does..
Now that I've gone WAY off topic from Herschel Walker, I'll just say this. The guy could be completely full of **** and maybe he stuck needles in his arms and did barbell squats twice a week in his day. I believe he didn't. There's no reason he had to with the workout he was doing. I challenge anyone to do 1,000 pushups a day (not a terribly difficult task if you build up to it over time and do it in sets throughout the day) and not put on some bulk and lose fat. Add in the sprinting, pullups, dips, and crunches and it's totally feasible to get a shredded body like Walker's without weights or illegal steriods.
I agree that it's possible to get an impressive build doing only body-weight exercises, but there's impressive, and then there is another level of massed up to the max. Walker looks like the latter in that opening post photo. I have some doubts about whether you can get that ripped without weights. I can't speak from observation, and I'll acknowledge that maybe it's possible for one of those guys whose genetics let them put on muscle easily--you know, the guys who can add ten pounds of muscle just by looking at a picture of a weight rack--but I at least have to wonder.
What I don't just have some doubts about, but outright refuse to believe, is that Walker got that build from no exercises other than push-ups and sit-ups. He's ripped all over, and there are too many muscles not worked fully (some not at all) with just those two exercises to believe that he got that developed over his full body with no other workout. Translated into using weights, that would be like claiming you got a full-body he-man physique by doing nothing except bench press and the crunch machine. I just plain don't believe that.
Woah there killer, slow your roll. I know a few things about the human body, trust me, i'm far from ignorant on the subject and no, the type of muscles in the OP's photo are not possible to obtain with simple or complex pushups. There are a variety of things that must happen in order to get neck muscles like that such as diet, cardio, core stability is also needed in order to have the ability to gain and maintain neck muscles like that and numerous other things - push and pull - gotta have it. I'm really sorry to bust all of your "research" and mean nothing personal by my comments just saying, not possible, sorry.
Where did I "prepetuate a myth" that one needs a gym??? Mocking comments? no, simply the truth.
Quote "research" like that and tell me again you are not mocking etc.
I want to laugh at you again and everyone else that is trapped into thinking of going by the book.
