Please dont take this the wrong way-but why is it that most women dont seem to be in shape? For example recently I was at a Subway and these women did not even think twice about ordering some cookies. I mean you are at Subway for supposedly healthier options right?
Is it the dieting part or lack of exercise or both? I know men have this problem to dont get me wrong and I have heard that is harder for women to keep weight off.
I was just seeing if i get some honest answers.
This question makes no sense. There are plenty of men getting cookies at Subway. People have varying levels of fitness for various reasons. For some people it isn't a priority right now, some people are working on it, and some people are active but not in "socially acceptable" bodies. Why are you policing people's food choices?

You can be fit and eat cookies from time to time there is nothing wrong with that otherwise they wouldn't sell it @ Subways, I don't see that much fat people where I live, but at the same time I live in Europe so we're probably not experiencing the same things.
Maybe they weren't in subway for healthier foods (as if subway actually qualifies as healthy), they were just there because they were hungry. Maybe they were olympic heavy weights carbo loading before a major workout. Maybe they are pregnant and having trouble eating all the extra calories they need to. Maybe they eat one dessert a month and you just witnessed it. Maybe they have terminal cancer and no longer care about how they look, they'd rather just enjoy themselves. Maybe they are undercover food critics testing out the quality of the food.
Maybe you don't know anything about these women other than what they happened to eat at this one particular meal.

I know they were both overweight and didnt think twice.

I'm sorry, but you can't possibly know what they were thinking. I'm overweight. I almost never go into a restaurant without knowing in advance what I will order. So, while it may look as though I didn't give my food selections a second though, 99% of the time I have. I'll often plan an entire week's menu around a couple lunch or dinner plans.
But, I guess to answer your question, women do tend to have a tougher time losing weight due to our more complicated hormones. If you really want to know the ins and outs of it, read Why We Get Fat; the book goes into a lot of detail about how various hormones impact weight and discusses how women are heavier (meaning women have higher body fat than men) in just about every culture on earth.
And you can't really expect to go into a fast-food restaurant (which Subway is, despite having Michael Phelps as a shill,) and be surprised that people are making questionable food choices.
Are you sure that these particular women were even eating the cookies? Maybe they were picking up an order of cookies for a friend/child/husband/co-worker.
