I am a fifteen y/o guy. I do track (100m, 200m, 400m, 4X1, 4X4, Long&Triple) I also do soccer (Center-Mid, Defense) I really never work out. I run occasionally. I have practically zero body fat. I have a fast metabolism. I am 5'11 and currently 155 lbs. Is this an appropriate weight for myself? Should I not worry about numbers? Sometimes I drop down weight, sometimes I go up.

A couple weeks ago in soccer, a guy asked how tall i was, "5'11" I responded, and then he asked how much I weighed "150"

He was about 5'8, athletic, stockier, and weighed 165, and said i made him feel fat.

At track, sprinters are usually shorter, stockier, about 5'8 and 160-170. I am not a slow poke, my time in the 100 is 11.9, and the 200 is 23.1. But, some older guys say I should put on more muscle If i want to compete better, or be faster.

Should I think about numbers, or not care unless it gets entirely too low?

At your age, don't worry about being underweight unless your doctor voices concern.

Yes, as a sprinter, adding muscle mass/strength will likely improve your times. Simply gaining weight will not.

Bottom line - don't pay attention to the numbers on the scale, they only tell a small part of the story. Judge yourself based on how you look, how you feel and how you perform.

Great advice by Hooligan, on all points. The one thought I'll add is that your coach would be the first person to talk with about how best to work on adding muscle and strength for your events.
