Been on a limited schedule at the gym due to the holidays, but will be back full blast on monday.
I am back to doing daily pullups, along with eccentric pullups.
Nada. Was going for a 10k run this morning but woke up to 30 degree temp and said "expletive expletive this siberian winter cold". Got back under the covers and will probably go to hot yoga later. This cold weather is just stupid.
I'm still on a comeback trail after losing a good percentage of function in my lower right leg. I can't do any heavy walking , especially on uneven ground, or put heavy demands for weight bearing on it. And, its bout as good as its gonna get. I've fashioned a brace, out of an orthopedic boot, that takes up a lot of the slack, but distance walking is still out.
So, I've taken to a half hour of Tai Chi each morning, followed by 6 flights of 6 arrows from each of my bows. Starting with the 60# and finishing with the 50. Its amazing how much easier the lighter one is to pull after using the big boy first. Then, a half hour of just unhurried stretching exercises, similar to the Tai Chi.
I am making a habit of the routine, which sounds a bit light to some, I'm sure, but I'm getting better. Its been tough working within these new limits, but I'm getting the kinks out. My energy is way up, the pain is manageable and progress is being seen. And its fun. Archery is a surprisingly effective exercise tool, and coupled with the others has me hopeful of attaining a satisfactory activity level and level of function.
Went for a 45 minute run/jog on campus. Feel good and feel accomplished with my exercise for today.
