It's great to see the posts and that people are working out. Makes a tremendous difference in one's life. I'm 63 yrs old - ballet trained - and now do 30 min a day on the treadmill: full lilt, 3mph, then stretch, with weights were needed, do leg lifts in all directions, 30 each way, and then 3 lb free weights for my arms for tone. Also do a bit of ballet plies, tendus, etc. Staying in shape gives me the feeling have having some control in my life as I age.
Happy New Year to all. Today, i run for an hour to get on track after having a long weekend and Holidays. Now its time get fit again. A long cheat days is over. Even a slow jog can make my sweat burst. Great feelings when your sweating.
I tracked it today and realized that it's exactly one mile around my neighborhood! So today I took that route and walked 3 miles. This is the fourth time in six days that I've walked three miles at least, so I'm pretty psyched about that. It feels GREAT to get some exercise! I have been a regular walker for most of my adult life but I tore my achilles tendon a couple of years ago and after a year of injury, surgery, and then rehab, I got out of the habit of walking and slowly gained 15 pounds, so TIME TO GET THAT ALL OFF!
Walked to the library to pick up a DVD. The greenbelt was nice and peaceful for a weekend, the geese were squawking on the river. Really nice 1.5 hour walk.
