I've been wanting to get into exercising, but every time I try it just doesn't work out and I don't seem to last longer than a week..
I've never done any kind of work out before, but heard such good reviews on P90x so so I decided to give it a shot. I've probably started P90x about 3 or 4 times now in the past year or so, but never made it more than a week. I found the workout to be too long and occasionally quite boring.. (sad, I know). So I was reluctant to start the work out each day because frankly it was just not exciting enough.. I also found myself very sick and in a lot of pain, so I think the intensity of it may have also been a bit much for me being new to exercising..
So lately I've been looking into 10 minute trainer, because I figured I can't get too bored with 10 minutes. But then you have to stack them as well, so 30 minutes, but over the course of the day it seems do-able. It's not that I don't have time - I've got lots of time around my uni assignments/lectures etc, no job unfortunately. But I'm not sure how good the results are from 10MT vs P90x? I'm moving overseas in July and I want to be pretty close to my goal size/weight/look by then. P90x is pretty good results in 3 months, which is just in time - but how are the results from 10MT? And what if I don't find time for 3 every day, maybe just 2 on some days?
If you are new to exercising or not in decent shape to begin with PX90 and Insanity are not going to be good choices. You need to start small and work your way up to these types of exercises. And it sounds as if these types of exercises do not appeal to you. Forget a time frame to get into shape. That will just mess with your mind. Everyone is different.
Cycling, running, walking, swimming, yoga, classes, boot camps are all good choices to get you started.
Insanity is much harder than P90X. Based on how you described yourself, I don't think you'd be happy with it. A 10 minute workout (I'm not familiar with it) might be better, but if you're stacking the workouts, I think you'll have the same boredom issues. Maybe a dance workout, like Hip Hop Abs would be better. You just have to find something that you will enjoy doing, otherwise it doesn't matter how good the workout, you won't do it. Sounds like you need to look into an activity that has a higher "fun factor." Nothing wrong with that.
