did not see that she was 61.

Wow! a 61-year-old wanting to bring up the size of her tris...now that's somethin'.

No heavy compound movements for her then. She just needs to progressively train her close-grip push-ups, altering her form and cadence to make them increasingly harder. That's it. K.I.S.S.

Stop trolling me loser. I have lifted by entire life and am cert'd with NASM.

It was a joke, and trust me, I am not the one you want to start flaming in the fitness forums. Unless you have 15 years plus dedicated experience, you will be spanked and badly.

Now do us both a favor and stop being a pointless little troll.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the excess skin is the result of your weight loss? I have seen people change this in my gym. It takes time, And you are correct, the body most definately does change with age. However, with the right programming, changes can be made.

edit: just read all the other responses. It's really hard to suggest what to do without seeing you in person, or at least a picture. You may want to consider.....
1) Getting a medical / surgical consult. If the sagging skin is the result of weight loss, there is the possibility that removal would not be considered cosmetic. There are certain conditions that would have to be met. Check with your insurance.

OR

2) Have you considered working with a knowledgable personal trainer? Someone that has experience AND SUCCESS in what you need? someone who doesn't have an attitude and whom you can work with?

No, I am a man that wants my arms to look nice in a dress.

People really should read previous posts before they jump in and answer.

I am very aware of what it takes to body build and not planning on that, nor going to waste money on surgery. Yes the loose skin is a result of weight loss.

Yes I should go through the entire thread to find someone who is not the OP posting about their problem.

And nowhere did anyone say body build, but there is a great example of a 75 year old women with toned arms that lifts weights. But apparently you have bigger muscles than her and looser skin?

People should probably read previous threads about these problems before jumping in and asking questions

Amount of time spent exercising or a certification hardly mean much in the fitness world. I have watched people with fitness degrees "train" people and not make them correct their terrible form or have whole workouts revolved around different bicep curls... If you want to impress someone, post a pic. Anyone can be a keyboard warrior.

The average woman is NOT going to gain TWO inches in her arm. Obviously increasing muscle mass will stretch the skin - that's a no-brainer. But the effort involved to produce a noticeable result is not what most of these women are prepared to do.

20 years ago I reherniated a disc thanks to a "highly qualified certified" personal trainer. These days, I'm very cautious who I work with (especially those with an attitude/temper) and I need more than just their opinion, cuz they ALL think they are better than everyone else....a picture of the trainer doesn't do it for me, as it is easy to work independently on oneself, but not be able to translate that info into a successful training program for others.
