Finishing my Ironman in better time, and adding 10-15lbs of lean muscle on the off season.

Continue to work on lagging body parts (traps and quads, primarily).
Try a new lifting routine. Currently doing high volume, four times a week.
Find new trails to hike.

My goals are modest:

Run a 10k and not be slower than 3 years ago!
Beat seasonal depression by running outside in all weather!

Unassisted pullups/chinups.

I'm down to a 20lb assist on the machine and can do a set of 5 pullups, followed by a set of 7 chinups, then a 3rd set of some other grip (sometimes, pull ups, sometimes chinups, sometimes hands together), then a set of about 5 dips.

Also, I'd like to do 50 consecutive pushups. And get up to 115lb on bench press (I can currently do about 90lb for 4 reps, on a smith machine) And maybe 100 straight burpees (with the pushup...never tried)

Less specific goals: lose some extra weight, get in better shape. Maybe start running?

My specific goals for 2014 are:

2. Work out with weights at the gym for 1 hour 2x per week
3. Swim a mile at the gym at least 2x per week.
4. Swim a mile in 45 minutes (best so far is 52 minutes)

I'm likely going to do some traveling in a month or so...that'll put my lifting on hold for a while.

End of 2014 goal. Be able to do a pullup with 90 lbs on my dip belt. I'm able to do 45 now. I'm confident I can double that next year.

Get my legs stronger. I have a bad knee and I can feel my knee getting stronger with the more I squat and deadlift.

Get back to a 31 in waist. I'm at 33 now so its not a huge deal.

1. Squat 455 with just belt and knee wraps
2. Bench 275 raw
3. Do a 200+ lb snatch
4. 20 pullups (full range, none of that kipping crap)
5. Stay above a 500 belt only deadlift
6. Get in better cardio shape by lots of hiking and more kettlebell/strongman conditioning

All of this would allow me to be in better shape now at 36 than I was at 26!
